  • Help you build a powerful support network within the healthcare system
  • Enhance your ability to influence local and national policies
  • Ensure you make an immediate personal and organisational impact to improve experiences for patients and whole communities

Programme content

This programme is based on the principles of Self Managed Learning. This is an approach through which you will take responsibility and accountability for what you choose to focus on within the overall framework and spirit of the programme. You will assess and be assessed by your peers within learning sets, supported by a very experienced faculty set adviser.

You are also able to choose your personal learning goals to demonstrate your leadership development and provide evidence to show that you have achieved the programme outcomes.

The programme has three principle learning methods which feature throughout the modules:

  • Learning sets
  • Face to face experiential learning at residential workshops
  • Online via the virtual campus

Cost

NHS subsidised fee £7,000 (this applies to all NHS organisations in England and the home countries and all staff employed by the NHS)

Bursary scheme (fully funded - there are a very limited number of bursaries available for which a specific application is required)

The investment goes directly back into the NHS, through your development, ensuring that all healthcare staff become the best leaders they can possibly be – to ultimately make a real and improved difference to patient experience and care. The Academy’s decision to introduce a charging model for some of our offers is key in establishing longer term sustainability of leadership development within the system
