Our delivery priorities

The Leadership and Organisational Development Business plan sets out out our strategy and work plan for the investment we make and the role we play in improving leadership capacity and capability across the east of England. Leadership and Organisation Development forms an integral element of the Workforce Skills Strategy 2013-2020 for Health Education East of England.

Our delivery priorities encompass our talent management approach and strategy. By responding to the 2013 engagement process we were better equipped to identify these objectives – these are set out below. Our aim is to share and develop this work together and in support of the  National Improvement and Leadership Development Strategic Framework Developing People – Improving Care: a national framework for action on improvement and leadership development in NHS-funded services’



NHS Finance Leaders National Talent Pool

The talent pool has been established to support aspiring finance leaders. The aim is to create a diverse pool of talent that improves the number and quality of applicants for future finance leadership vacancies.

Aspirant Director of Nursing Talent Scheme

With a recognised shortage of executive nurse leaders across the NHS in England, we are supporting a talent management pilot in Midlands and East to build a sustainable talent pipeline.

Improving talent management systems

-Promoting adoption of iTM tools and approach across organisations;
-Supporting employers to identifying and succession;
-Plan high potential, aspiring leaders;
-Building an alumni of identified talent to support the iTM approach.

Increase pipeline of aspiring senior leaders

-Core national and additional local programmes;
-Access to coaches, mentors and diagnostic tools;
-Development of talent pool and alignment with transformation agenda;
-Increased uptake to The Director Programme.

Increasing access to the Talent Management Programme

This short Talent programme has been put together to stimulate conversations about the need for talent management within health and social care so that managers and employees – can have more supportive and constructive conversations.
