CUHP Senior Medical Leaders Development Programme

Overview

In response to local demand Cambridge University Health Partners is pleased to offer 'Leading for Excellence' a Senior Clinical Leadership & Management Development Programme aimed at current or aspiring Clinical Directors or Senior Clinical Leaders. This has been developed in consultation with Medical and Human Resources Directors and senior clinicians from Trusts in the East of England health system. This advanced leadership programme will be academic with vocational application and will be delivered in collaboration with the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge and with input from the King's Fund. The aim of the programme is to support senior clinical leaders in their development to become effective, influential and inspirational leaders, leading other people and your organisation towards excellence.

The anticipated duration is 6-12 months during which time the participants wil be expected to complete a Service Improvement Project which may be part of your local SIP programme, the system wide Sustainability and Transformation Programme or another organisational priority.

Dates and cost

The programme will commence in September 2016 and will cost £5,000 per place. We believe this to be a competitive fee for a locally delivered, high quality programme which we believe will be essential to the development of senior clinicians to be able to respond to the current leadership challenges and to ensure future recruitment and retention into these high profile and critical roles.

How to apply

We hope that you will be able to support your senior clinical leaders in attending this programme - we already have commitment from several local Trusts taking up places. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 31 May 2016.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the programme in more detail please contact the Programme Directors, Dr Stephen Webb stephen.webb@nhs.net or Jessica Watts jessica.watts2@nhs.net.
