James has led the Trust’s work in Customer Inclusion, Engagement and Equality and Diversity and has led the development and implementation of the Trust’s Equality, Inclusion and Human Rights Strategies since 2006, including the current strategy; ‘Supporting People to Flourish and Thrive’. James has championed, with his team, service user and carer inclusion and engagement and has been instrumental in making sure that involvement is at the heart of our values as an organisation.

"James demonstrates leadership for equality and inclusion both from a service user and staff perspective.  His nomination listed many examples of leading improvements for his organisation in this arena.  In the words of his nominator: ‘James has made inclusivity and equality everyone’s responsibility, and he has done so whilst role modelling the values and behaviours of a true leader’.  James has come across clearly as a huge asset to the organisation he works for, the people he works with and the communities he serves."
